MY DAILY WORKOUTS

Since I have officially signed up for the BuffMother "Sexy in 70 days" contest which started on Monday, April 3, 2010. She is an amazing inspiration to me and many others! This will inspire me to get serious about getting into better shape and lose the pounds that have crept up in the last 1 1/2 years. Basically what this means is I am committed to working out everyday for 6 days with one day off. We are talking quick, ,short workouts here. Besides BuffMother,I have to give credit to Zuzana Light of bodyrock.tv for the workouts i'm doing. She has some INTENSE but quick workout videos on her website for free that i'm doing. (Have you heard about cardio Tabata style? Read below to learn more about it)

MY FIRST WORKOUT SEGMENT - THE SUMMER FITNESS 6-WEEK EXERCISE PROGRAM:
This

Day1 – 15 minute weight training I

Day2 – 20 minute cardio and core

Day3 – 30 minute circuit workout

Day4 – 20 minute cardio of your own choice

Day5 – 15 minute weight training II.

Day6 – 20 minute cardio and Core

Day7 – Day off (SUNDAYS)

I will be reporting what i did as my workout as well as what I ate.  I will using the following format:

WORKOUT:
1.  Type of workout
2.  Heart rate/calories burned (which isn't as important because Interval Training burns more FAT than calories -- but since i'll be wearing a heart rate monitor i'll report it. Will be interesting if i get better results doing these shorter, more intensive workouts...:D

HOW DO I FEEL?
This is likely going to be dependent upon the day of my cycle but other things could also play a big part.

ONE TYPE OF WORKOUT -- TABATA:
It is a great way to get a very intense workout in a very short period of time.It is fast, brutal, and effective. With just 20 minutes of exercise you can boost your metabolism for the rest of the day which helps to burn calories and get you fitter.

This cardio workout is basically interval training based on Tabata protocol. Tabata protocol was created by Dr. Izumi Tabata at the National Institute of Fitness and Sports in Tokyo, Japan. Its 8 rounds of near max sprint effort 20 seconds sprinting 10 seconds rest. The entire workout takes 4 minutes ( 3 minutes and 50 seconds). Those 4 minutes a day are worth the equivalent to more than an hour of normal ‘endurance’ style cardio. Its now used by many professional fighters and many top trainers are saying that its possible to shed 7% – 10% bodyfat within a month if you do this workout 4 times per week.
